Be Prepared – What to Bring For Your Trip
Tips to be prepared for your upcoming trip at Open Sky
Open Sky sits in a mecca of outdoor adventures and beautiful sights waiting for you to experience. We provide a lot of your comforts to you during your stay, however, there are some personal items that we recommend you bring to enhance your experience.
We provide:
- Reverse osmosis filtered water (sitewide)
- Bedding
- Towels, and washcloths
- Local luxury soaps (shampoo, conditioner, hand soap)
- Lotion
- Snacks
- Cups
- Bathrobes
- Slippers
- Personal grill
- Personal fire pit
- Other little surprises
You should consider bringing:
Large water bottles:
Water is the most important thing to remember in our climate. It is easy to get dehydrated and many visitors don’t take into consideration the extra water that they will need to consume. Even if it is cool outside, your body will require a lot more water than usual. We recommend that you bring large water bottles or CamelBak packs to keep water on you all the time.
We provide sitewide reverse osmosis filtered water for our guests so that you can refill your water vessel regularly.
Appropriate Clothing:
Zion is located at a transition point between desert and mountains which is why it is one of the most interesting places on earth. Winters are mild, but you can expect some snow and chilly temperatures. Spring and Fall have warm days and somewhat chilly nights. Summer has hot days and cool evenings. Though our tents are climate controlled with A/C and heat, please bring appropriate clothing to keep you comfortable during your stay. Also, be sure to check the forecast prior to your trip to know what to expect.
For all situations, we recommend you bring:
- Sunscreen
- Sunglasses
- Sun hat
- Your personal toiletries such as deodorant, toothbrush, toothpaste, floss, etc.
Hiking – There are so many trails to explore:
Zion and the surrounding areas have countless trails to explore. From slot canyons to summit hikes, there are trails for all skill levels and interests. Bring your hiking boots or shoes, water sandals, or boots if you want to explore water trails (can be rented in Springdale), and hiking poles.
Mountain Biking – There’s an epic trail that starts at the property:
Guacamole Trail is one of the best mountain biking trails in the region and starts right at our property. Bring your bike, helmet, shoes, or rent them from us and have them waiting for you at your tent.
